Bitcoins value is in its ability to be independent from a controlling entity. It has its own predictable montary policy. That in itself is priceless.

Kind of cute. And if you send your fax number to Mr. Buffett he will send you a fax and share more of his BTC ignorance with you.

He's a very very smart man and he knows the score. Unfortunately he's into central bank dictatorship over monetary policy and probably recognises the disruptive capacity of Bitcoin so plays it down as much as possible.

With Warren Buffet words i quote: "Bill Gates came to me in 1991 and said to me you gotta have a computer and i said why and Bill said you can do your income tax on it and i said Berkshire doesnt pay dividends. Bill Gates said to me computers are gonna change everything and i said will it changed how to ppl chew gum…..and he said probabbly not…..and i said will it change what kind of gum they chew…and he said probabbly not….then i said i'll stick to chewing gum and you stick to computers. I don't invest in things that i don't understand."

So now you tell me why would i listen to Buffet advice on buying/selling cryptocurrency…he had his »wall street« time but for new tehnologies he is a dinosaur.

My granddad also prefers the fax-machine, and thinks email/internet has no unique value at all. (Strange why Microsoft, JPMorgan, and a whole slew of other major companies are all working on ways to be part of the coming crypto-infrastructure, and workers in Africa are getting paid crypto by countries overseas, Singapore putting University degrees on the Ethereum blockchain etc. etc. etc.) Mr. Buffett you are confusing Bitcoin with gold. #DropGold

To all the people that believe him, remember warren buffet doesn't even know how to use a computer what would he know about bitcoin? Hell he missed out on investing in google and amazon and called it the worst mistake of his life.

    BITCOIN IS A CURRENCY!!!!!!!

    OBVIOUSLY CURRENCIES DONT PRODUCE ANYTHING!!!!!!

BITCOIN IS THE LARGEST NETWORK OF DIGITAL CURRENCY WITH NO NEED TO TRUST ANYONE.

BITCOIN CURRENCY BECOMES MORE VALUABLE AS THE DOLLAR CURRENCY BECOMES LESS VALUABLE

So, Warren still does not see digital currency in the future. Bitcoin has a finite supply. I wonder how stones, metal's and other 'things' became valuable? Because of their scarcity?

and that's why he is the 88 billion dollar man. he invests in cashflow producing assets. not in hope and speculation

I totally understand why he would be so dismissive towards bitcoin.. I mean, his wealth relies heavily on the strength, use, demand and need for the dollar. All of a sudden, someone has created an invisible currency that everybody wants. His wealth is about to weaken and in truth this will be down to his ignorance. I don't want to to disrespect him at all, his investment in crypto would be highly desired and would only take the new asset forwards!!

Buffett doesn't even know how to operate a personal computer. The guy invests in newspapers and railroads… something like cryptocurrency (or anything technical for that matter) is simply not in his wheelhouse. It'd be like asking Kim Kardashian for her thoughts about astrophysics.

Everybody here should stick to passive investing via traditional channels. S&P 500, Russell 2000, etc. This is where you will see real returns and growth. Not in fads like cyrpto's.
